I'M_ERROR [CREEPYPASTA]

John turned on his old computer with the outdated system. He had been planning to change it for awhile now. He didn't want to buy a new one, just download one for free. So he started to search the web for a program. He turned on the dusty router, which he only used to download things on this old machine. He searched for it a long time, but all files were deleted or blocked. He found some links to weird websites, but many of them needed a  log in to the site or to buy something. John wanted to give up, but suddenly he opened an old forum where he found something which looked like last chance:

John downloaded the file happy. He ignored the weird posts of the users, though he was a bit afraid that it might be a virus so he scanned the file three times. It was safe, so he first made a backup of the old system and started installing the new one.

OS worked great, 0 bugs and 0 lags. However, something happened two days after the download. All the icons from the desktop disappeared. All programs were uninstalled. His wallpaper had been replaced with a black background.  Only thing that was left on the desktop was a .txt file named 'say hi'.  John opened it, full of anger that he downloaded virus. The file was empty. He looked at it for awhile and wrote 'hi', still quite upset. Nothing happened. He saved it and turned off the computer, deciding that he would later fix it with the backup files he made before. He cursed quietly, but was glad that he decided to keep a file for safety on another disk.

A few hours later, he decided to install the old OS from the backup files. He turned on the computer and it logged him on the account by itself, without asking for a password. The wallpaper had changed to random red lines. The .txt file had changed too, it was named 'open' now. John was confused, what the hell happened here? What kind of virus is this?. He wanted turn off the computer first to find out what had attacked him, but the Start wasn't anywhere. He looked at the mysterious file for awhile before reopening it:

John looked at it. Was the user TellMeYourFears using the file to break into other's computers? But this computer was turned off. And he hadn't even connected to the web on this computer for awhile...

John decided to try to find out how this happened. He wrote 'who are you?' and tried to turn off the computer, hoping that this time he will get new information. He tried everything, but the screen stayed frozen and after awhile he gave up and left it turned on.

For two days nothing happened, even though he checked it every few hours. There were no new messages, the computer still acted like it was frozen.

On the evening of the third day the computer started to emit loud sounds and work. John came to it curious about what was happening. He opened .txt file but suddenly an error has occurred. Next a blue screen appeared, first for seven seconds there was regular blue screen with information about what happened, but the blue screen changed to one where there was only one thing written:

I'M ERROR

John tried to restart the computer, but it doesn't work. The computer didn't react to any of the commands he put into it. An hour later computer went crazy even more. It started to write repeatedly:

and after every "I'M ERROR" it gave off the sound of a Window's error. After a short while, the screen was full of errors and the sound, which was very loud to begin with, started to overlap and started to sound like somebody saying this over and over again.
Suddenly it all ended. The sound and errors disappeared as mysteriously as they appeared. There was just a blank desktop with three files on it: IM_ERROR.jpg, talkwithme.txt and ERROR.avi. John opened talkwithme.txt file first.

John didn't know what to do in such a strange situation so he started to write, he felt that it might bring him closer to solving what was happening to his computer.

John opened the picture file and he almost fell off the chair. There was a photo of a gory face that resembled his own. John closed it fast and he had a horrible feeling that the person in the photo was looking at him. .txt file was deleted so he opened .avi file, still scared by what he just saw.

For the first five minutes there was just a black screen and some quiet whispers. Next somebody turned on the lights and he saw a girl sitting in front of the computer. She was doing something, sadly the video had bad quality so it was hard to notice many of the details. At the 6:57 mark of the video  on her computer error occurred , with a loud error sound. The girl clicked to turn off the error message and on the screen appeared a photo IM_ERROR.jpg. The girl looked at in shock. The person in the photo looked exactly like the girl except the person in the photo's face was horribly mangled. Then the OS started to give off an error sound. It was loud for a few moments before becoming eerily silent. The girl tried to get rid of it, but opened another file by accident. The noise came back, sounding strangely like "I'm error" after a while. The girl looked at the screen, hypnotized, her eyes empty and her mouth hanging open. She stood up, as if in a trance. At the 9:10 minute mark she took screwdriver, which was right next to her, and sat back down. She started stabbing her own face with the rhythm of the error sounds, making many deep wounds. Next, she started ripping with just her bare hands, using the wounds she created with the screwdriver as starting points. At 9:59 she let out a wild scream and the video ended with the error  appearing on the screen.

John was terrified. What was that? Who was that girl? And why did she do it?

John looked at the screen thinking that this was so unreal and horrifying. Suddenly the computer created a new file labeled IM_ERROR.png. John wanted to end it all, he couldn't stand it anymore, but he was way to curious about what was in this file. He wanted to find out the secrets of these weird files and who the girl was. He opened the file, prepared for whatever horrors that were stored in it.

That was a drawing. A colorful drawing of a girl that looked very pleasant.  Her hands and feet was blurred and yellow, her hair was curly, colorful lines. The background was a blue screen that had I'M ERROR written across it, the words slightly blurred. When John opened it, the system giving off the screechy sound of an error.  John listened to it. This sound...

John's body was found three days later. His friend called the police because nobody had seen him in a long time and he wasn't answering phone. The police officer who found corpse said that it was most likely suicide. John's body was cut with a knife, which had been found in his hand. The most damaged part was his face, which had been torn open and was damaged so much that they had to examine John's teeth structure to confirm it was him. The police ruled out murder, due to the evidence and no sign of foul play. They said the suicide was caused by mental instability and an unhealthy addiction to his computer. They supported this claim due to the fact that the deceased had been found in front their computer with a regular blue screen.
